The Salamanca Province, Spain

The Salamanca area, located in western Spain, is celebrated for its magnificent golden sandstone architecture, rich academic heritage, and vibrant cultural life. At its heart lies the historic city of Salamanca, home to one of Europe’s oldest universities, founded in 1218, whose ornate Plateresque façade is a masterpiece of Renaissance design.

Beyond the city, the province offers picturesque villages like La Alberca, scenic countryside, and the rugged beauty of the Sierra de Francia mountains, making Salamanca a captivating mix of history, learning, and natural charm.

La Cruz, a stone cross, stands atop a large, rugged rock under a clear sky, captured in black and white.

We explore Castillo Gibralfaro, a popular historic site where you can walk along the restored ramparts and enjoy panoramic vistas of the city and coastline.
