Potes is a historic town in the Asturias and Cantabria region of Spain and is considered one of the prettiest towns in the area.

Potes lies at the intersection of four valleys in the Picos de Europa, surrounded by hills and mountains. The town has a charming medieval centre with a maze of narrow alleys and ancient streets; a great attraction for tourists. The houses are built from local stone, a mellow golden/yellow colour. To complete the fairytale setting, a river also runs through the town with a number of attractive small stone bridges crossing it.
